Bryan Nugent is an international trade finance specialist, having helped hundreds of Canadian exporters with their sales all over the world.  Bryan joined Export Development Canada in 2010, underwriting EDC’s credit insurance policies before moving into a business development role.  In his current position as a Senior Account Manager, he works with companies in New Brunswick by identifying and delivering innovative financing, insurance and risk management solutions designed to help Canadian companies protect and expand their business internationally.  Bryan has a finance degree from the Sobey School of Business in Halifax and is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP), receiving his designation through the Forum of International Trade Training.  

Mel Francis, Senior Corporate Risk Manager

Mel Francis is a Senior Corporate Risk Manager with Western Union Business Solutions. His role is to help businesses minimize the impact of currency movements on their profit margin by implementing a tailored FX Risk management strategy. Mel has previously worked on the Foreign Exchange desks of BMO and National Bank and has accumulated more than 10 years of experience in FX Structured Products. Mel Holds a Bachelor degree in Economics, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance as well as the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Designation.
